Blessing Way
A Blessing Way is a wonderful way to prepare mothers to be, as well as welcome the new little one into the world. Often the blessing is held a few months before birth. A gathering of friends is held around the mother and she is pampered with a foot bath, flowers, stories and songs. A unique ceremony is co-created by all those present. Usually this begins by smudging and a calling of the directions to ensure protection for the mother and her child during the next months and into the birthing. Each friend will present the mother with a wish and a gift, offering her strength for her journey.
